MEREDITH
Shetland Colt Approx 3 Years Old

He was admitted to the Society 17.11.10
The Police rang us during the night to ask if we could help with a pony that had been tied to a lamp post for four days. The relevant authorities all new about him but had done nothing. The rope around his neck got tighter every time he pulled.
He was back here in a cosy stable by 1pm. He will have to be gelded in the spring time along with all the other colts we currently have. We think that one of his stones has been retained which will mean an expensive operation.
This is just another example of a colt which has been abandoned. Currently colts are not holding their value and are worth next to nothing at the sales. On top of this they are expensive to geld and so the majority of our calls lately have been to help colts. We hardly ever find filly's abandoned or unwanted.
