LULU II

Filly foal, approximately 3 months old found abandoned with 4 other similarly aged foals on Council Land near Rhoose.  We were asked to help as this poor filly was very lame and needed our assistance. She was checked by a vet who signed her over to our charity and she is suspected to have a fractured / broken stifle and possibly pelvis as well.  We will have her x-rayed as soon as she is strong enough to travel to confirm what treatment she needs.   She is on antibiotics, pain killers and is receiving foal replacer milk which is being hand fed to her in a bowl every four hours.  She is responding really well and looks a lot more comfortable.

We are expecting a lot more to be abandoned in fields, too early to be weaned from their mothers.  If you see any foals in fields that you are concerned about please contact us.
