Jessie - March 2011

JESSIE

We took Jessie in on Saturday 26th March 2011 following a telephone call from a member of the public who had found her lying down and in a terrible way.  The concerned member of the public found her in the Ebbw Vale area on the Friday evening and took three gallons of water to her which she drank immediately.  Food was also provided as she was absolutely starving.  We believe her to be about 18 months old and she has the sweetest nature.

She has to be one of the thinnest horses that we have taken in and we are very concerned about her.  She has very bad diarrhea and she is very weak.  At night she is put in a sling in the stable to prevent her from lying down as she is currently unable to get up unaided.  During the day she is in the garden where we can keep an eye on her and help her to her feet if necessary.  It is early days for her and we really hope that she will pull through.
