DANCER
He was collected from a dark shed on Merthyr Common mid December 2009. The police and vet were in attendance. He had been unable to see out for 2 months and was in a terrible state. He weighed only 135 kg and was covered in lice. He is only about 2 years old and when he is strong enough we will have him gelded and find him a lovely new home.

June 2008 - Foals, Foals, Foals
We have been lucky enough to be blessed with three wonderful foals over the last couple of months, all in good order and all thriving. Two of which were born at Coxstone, and are with their mothers, and one is an orphan. Below are some pictures and a little more information about them.
CECIL
Cecil was born at Coxstone on 13th May 2008. His mum Crystal was taken from Merthyr Common with the Vets and Chief Inspector of Police's sign off. She was extremely poor with a body score of 1 - 1.5, heavily in foal and had very bad hooves.
Cecil is a beautiful little colt and he is looking really well. Crystal is a super mum and has certainly done this job a few times before.
We took him in on the 6th May 2008. Alexander was found stuck in a ditch by a man walking his dog on Rumney Mountain. He called out to another man riding his horse who rushed home to get his girlfriend. They could not find Alexanders mum anywhere and decided that if the foal was to survive they would need to take him home to their garage where they started to feed him special foal milk replacer every 2 hours. The couple both worked and so feeding a foal would have been very difficult as they need to be fed every few hours when they are young. They called us asking for help and we agreed to take Alexander.

COXSTONE ORCHID
This beautiful filly foal was born at Coxstone on the 8th April 2008. She is out of Napier Star, one of the 6 rescued Thoroughbreds that we took in at the end of January 2008. Napier foaled very easily and has proved to be a very good mum. Here are some lovely pictures of Orchid with her Mum & Co.
