29th October - Halloween Spooktacular. Thank you to everyone who came and supported the event. We had a great evening - shame about the rain!

24th September - Coffee Morning - Magor Church - Thank you to Julie and John Challenger for organising this popular event.
18th September - Duck Race and Teddy Bears Picnic - An amazing amount of ducks were bought and what a sight as they all went bobbing down the river. Over 1300 ducks were sold and some of the duck winnings have been donated back to us already, which is fantastic. We are looking at raising at least £1200 from this annual event. A big thank you to everyone who bought a duck and to Sian Lloyd who organises this every year and all the helpers on the day fishing the ducks out of the river - there were some very muddy and wet helpers!!
10th September - Usk Show - A big thank you to everyone who comes to help man the stall - it was a great day, a little bit windy for our gazeebo's however! £360 was taken in donations and merchandise - thank you to all our supporters
3RD September - Tea Party at Springfields - Many thanks to Terressa Durrel who held this event in aid of us. £96 was taken for cakes and teas and we sold £109 worth of merchandise - wonderful

25TH August - Monmouth Show - Thanks to everyone who came and visited the stall we took £620 including sales of our merchandise, which is wonderful.
JULY 2011
3rd July - SWHP OPEN Day - A roaring success. £5,300 raised on the day and this does not include the donations we receive before and after the open day from supporters who could not attend. We couldn't do it without our loyal helpers and staff. A very big thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed the day.

12th June - Sunday - Lisa, Lydia and Lucy are going to do a skydive at Swansea Airport in aid of the SWHP. They will be throwing themselves out of a plane between 08.30 and 11.30 - we wish them the best of luck and happy landings. They have set up a facebook page for the event which you can find through our facebook page if you click on our link above top right, and go onto our events. We are also setting up a Just Giving page so that you can sponsor them - it takes 20 days to set up so please bear with us. You can donate in the usual way through our paypal or by chequeif you prefer in the meantime. Cancelled due to bad weather but will be going ahead at a later date

15th May - LURCHER AND TERRIER RACING - A great day was had by all, and we raised just over £800. Thank you to all the judges and organisers - especially Nigel for making the day such a success.
6th May - EVENING OF CLAIRVOYANCE - We would like to thank June and her many helpers for organising this event. They had a great evening and managed to raise £261 for the horses and ponies at the SWHP.
1ST MAY - SWHP FUN RIDE - A wonderful day and £1030 raised for the horses and ponies. We had 63 riders and we would like to thank everyone of them for making it such a great day. A very big thank you to all the helpers who gave up their day and to the landowners for allowing us to cross their land. 26th April - Silent Auction. It was a great evening of fun and we would like to thank Maggie King so much for organising such a great event for us again this year. Maggie and her team of wonderful helpers raised £1042 for the SWHP - A fantastic amount
16TH APRIL - Coffee Morning, The Priory Monmouth. Thank you to everyone who come and supported us, it was a beautiful sunny day and we raised £356.10. A big thank you to the pianist who played some wonderful show tunes and to the people who brought along quality items for us to sell at future coffee mornings.

Table Top Sale - run by Jo Chadwick. There was a great turnout and we had our own table and we managed to raise some much needed funds. A big thank you to Jo for organising the table top sale and for donating the entrance fee to the SWHP

Llanvihangel Flower Festival - A wonderful event. With many thanks to Sian Lloyd who organised the whole event and to the Abergavenny Flower arranging group, who's displays were fantastic. Many thanks to everyone who supported and visited Llanvihangel.
OPEN DAY - 5TH DECEMBER 2010 - It was a cold and fortunately sunny day. Many people struggled through icy conditions to be with us. We raised just under £3,000 for the horses and ponies; which is wonderful.
A great big thank you to everyone who attended and to all the people who ran stalls and helped the day run so smoothly.

COFFEE MORNING AT THE PRIORY - SATURDAY 13TH NOVEMBER - Thank you to everyone who helped out and who attended, nearly £500 was raised for the horses and ponies. A brilliant boost for the SWHP funds.

12th October- Rachel Walters completed her sky dive and is now collecting her sponsorship. A big well done to Rachel from everyone at the SWHP
24th October - Sunday. Fun Ride around the Rudry area being run by the Rhyddid Riding Club. They raised £350 for the SWHP, a huge thank you to everyone who went and enjoyed the lovely weather and picnic, a big thank you to Maggie King and Ann Lamerton

Duck Race and Teddy Bears picnic - We had a wonderful day and £900 was raised for the horses and ponies - the ducks floated off down the river with no hickups and the first prize winner very kindly donated back her winnings to us.

OPEN DAY -We had a fabulous open day yesterday (11th July) We took over £5,500 including some lovely 'one off ' donation. The sun shone all day and everyone had a lovely time. A huge thank you to everyone who came to support us and not forgetting everyone who came to help us run the day, we could not do it without you.

SKY DIVE - 26th June and Sponsored Silence - The 4 ladies from Penylan Country Lodge did us proud and raised a wonderful amount for the horse hospital. Three of them threw themselves out of a plane and one lady remained silent for many hours - I'm not sure I could do either - thank you so much
Canoe Trip down the River Wye - 11th June 2010. Many thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed the day. The weather was great and fun was had by all - as long as you avoided the angry swan! Many thanks to Sue Hughes who arranged the day and everyone who came to help - the BBQ was wonderful.

Blue Bell Dog Walk 23rd May - Many thanks to Mr & Mrs Pemberton, and to everyone who came to the walk. It was a very hot day and fun was had by all.

FUN RIDE - APRIL 25TH -What a great day, we had 144 riders, good weather and great supporters. We raised £2100 to help all the SWHP horses and ponies. Thank you to everyone who came and manned a gate / Refreshments / Road Crossing etc. and of course to everyone who came to enjoy ride. Our Christmas Open day was a huge success and we made over £4,500 which must be a record - thank you to everyone who came to support us and to all the volunteers who made the day such a huge success.

JUMBLE SALE - A very interesting day, where the weather was awful and very windy. As a result of the wind some scaffolding above the priory had become unsafe and so we were unable to leave the building and no one was allowed to come in. Amazingly we made a reasonable amount for the horses and ponies

SALLY ANNE- LIVERPOOL RUN - A HUGE WELL DONE TO SALLY ANNE WHO COMPLETED THE RUN IN 1 hour 3 minutes .
The race was great and the weather stayed fine. Sally Anne says "Could you please say I would like to thank everyone who sponsored me and helped raise much needed funds for the horse hospital. I have attached a picture of myself and Serana Morris who also ran for us. So far I have managed to raise over £200 plus anything Serana has gotten..."
THE GREAT FROG RACE - SEPTEMBER 2009 - We had a great night and lots of money was raised. Thank you to everyone who came and supported us and to the Frog Race Company for such an enjoyable evening.

MONMOUTH STEAM RALLY - Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th May - we raised £230 on the stand - thank you to everyone who came along and visited the stand.
SILENT AUCTION AND RAFFLE EVENING - Friday 24th April at Rhiwabina Tennis Club. Another great evening, Thank you to everyone who put in such a lot of effort to organise the evening and for everyone who came and supported us. £1182 was raised, which is a fantastic.
HORSE HEALTH EVENING - 23RD APRIL 2009 - Fantastic evening. Many thanks to all the supporters and of course the three speakers, which made for a very interesting and informative evening. We are pleased to say that we made around £360 for the horses and ponies.
QUIZ NIGHT AT THE GREEN DRAGON - 29TH MARCH 09 - What a great evening, we really enjoyed ourselves and a wonderful £470 was raised for the SWHP - thanks to everyone who came and supported us and of course to the Green Dragon

A big thank you to Anne Lamerton and the RRC for organising this fun ride. A good turnout was reported and everyone had a great time (even though the wind was very cold). A wonderful total of £205 was raised for the SWHP
SWHP CHRISTMAS OPEN DAY - 7TH DECEMBER 08
We woke to a very cold but sunny morning, which after the last few open days was a delight. We had a fantastic day with lots of our loyal supporters in attendence and with lots of new faces as well. We raised £3800 for the horses and ponies, which is fantastic, and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came and to everyone who gave up their day to help out on the stalls.
ROUND THE WORLD IN 80 MINUTES - 7TH NOVEMBER 08
It was a great evening, and £345 was raised, we would like to send our thanks to Monmouth Ladies Choir, the Ross-on-Wye band and of course everyone who came and supported the event.
FUN RIDE AT GARNONS, HEREFORD - SATURDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER 08
What a wonderful day we had. The sun shone all day - and the fog started to lift just in time! A big thank you to everyone who helped on the day and of course to all the riders who turned up to have a beautiful ride around the Garnon's Estate - a special thank you to Mr & Mrs Harry Cotterell for allowing us to use their land. The best news is that we raised just on £2,000 for all the horses and ponies. DUCK RACE 2008
SUNDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER
DUCK RACE, SWAN MEADOW, ABERGAVENNY We are pleased to say that we raised £1156 from the sale of ducks. Many thanks to everyone who supported the event. We were unable to release the ducks onto the river due to the speed and flow of the water - we may never have seen the ducks again! Instead we used raffle tickets for each and every duck bought and the first three tickets drawn by independent people won, 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes
SUMMER OPEN DAY 2008
Many thanks to everyone who came to support our Open Day on Sunday. It started off wet after a night of torrential rain however on queue and as ordered, the sun came out for the display of horses and the dog show. At the last count we took just over £4,000 on the day which is amazing. So again we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came and to everyone who gave up their day to help out.
